Limin.pngProf. LI Min obtained her Bachelor's degree from the Henan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), China, in 1985, her Master's degree in Chinese Medicine at the Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, China, in 1988 and her PhD degree in Cardiology at the School of Medicine, Tokai University, Japan, in 2001. Then she joined the School of Chinese Medicine, Hong Kong Baptist University, where she is currently a professor and serves as the Programme Director of BCM, an Associate Director of the Clinical Division and the Director of Mr. and Mrs. Ko Chi Ming Centre for Parkinson's Disease Research. Prof. LI received an Award of the Distinguished Female Chinese Medicine Practitioner by the China Association of Chinese medicine in 2007, School’s Award for Outstanding Performance in Scholarly Work in 2012 and President’s Award for Outstanding Performance in Teaching from Hong Kong Baptist University in 2013. Prof. LI’s clinical specialty is in Chinese medicine treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinson's disease (PD), Alzheimer's disease (AD) and vascular dementia (VD), as well as on cardio-cerebrovascular diseases.







Prof. LI’s long-term research interests are:

● Neurodegenerative Diseases Including Parkinson’s disease (PD) and Alzheimer’s Disease (AD).

● Chinese Herbal Medicine for Prevention and Treatment of Neurodegenerative Diseases.

● Development of Molecular Targets for Drug Discovery from TCM for Neurodegenerative Diseases.



Prof. LI’s current research directions are:

● Investigation of the Efficacy and Safety of TCM in the Treatment of Neurodegenerative Diseases including PD and AD based on Randomized Controlled Clinical Trials, as well as the Interaction of TCM and Western Medicine.

● Understanding the Neuroprotective Effects and Underlying Mechanisms of TCM on Neurodegenerative Diseases including PD and AD.
